There’s an old saying in the horse world, I believe by Pat Parelli, that goes something like, “When you take off the halter you’ll be left with the truth.”
I have been on a similar journey, making the same connections between what we accepted as 'normal' in horse training, relationships, and our human propensity for dominance and control over other beings. As a retiree from the world of horse sport, I was horrified to see where my own ego and actions had caused harm to my horses and in particular how that spilled over into my life as a mother. I too, had the 'luxury of falling apart' and questioning everything. Most aren't ready to make these connections, but it is happening. Bit by bit . An awakening. Keep walking. We walk with you.
